Man indicted on six counts related to 2017 robbery

RAPID CITY, S.D. – After a delay, a Rapid City man was indicted Monday on six counts related to a September 2017 robbery.

Nicholas Perry, 31, of Rapid City is charged in the holdup of the Boyd’s Drug mart.

Assistant Attorney General Scott Roetzel said the delay in his indictment came from Perry being taken into federal custody shortly after being arrested.

Perry has pleaded not guilty to first-degree robbery, attempted first-degree robbery, kidnapping in the second degree, and an alternative count of kidnapping in the second degree and two counts of aggravated assault.

Perry is also charged with being a habitual offender due to a 2008 conviction for possession of drugs.
