Monument Health in Rapid City to begin drive-through testing for COVID-19

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Monument Health in Rapid City is introducing a drive-through sample collection on Monday for patients with a suspected COVID-19 infection. They’re also adding a Nurse Triage Line to connect patients with nurses.

The drive-though sampling will only be provided if a doctor or healthcare professional has ordered it for a specific patient. In order for a patient to qualify, the patient must be preregistered and have the proper identification.

To get an order and preregistration, a patient contacts the COVID-19 Nurse Triage Line at 1-800-279-1466. After receiving the order and preregistration, the patient get tested at the Monument Health Urgent Care facility on Jackson Boulevard in Rapid City.

The patient will then return home to await the results.

The areas for criteria of testing are if:

– Individuals have experienced flu-like symptoms
– Having recently traveled
– An individual has been exposed to someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19

If a patient is seriously ill and needs medical attention, they will be cared for at a Monument Health Hospital.

Testing centers will be available in the coming days at other Monument Health locations around the Black Hills depending on need.

The drive-through testing at 2116 Jackson Boulevard is open from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. all week long.

The Nurse Triage Line will be open from 7 A.M. to 11 P.M. all week long starting Monday, March 15.
