New COVID-19 cases number 49 in Monday report

PIERRE, S.D. – The state Department of Health reported 49 new cases of COVID-19 in its Monday report, with no new deaths.

Around the Black Hills, Pennington County reported 8 of those, giving them a cumulative total of 786 with 131 active cases. The number of active cases in Pennington is up five from Sunday.

Meade County reported 2 new cases today, sending their cumulative total to 67. The active number of cases is 11 in Meade, up two from Sunday.

Lawrence County reported one new case today. There are now 3 active cases in Lawrence County out of a total of 26.

Oglala Lakota had two new cases today, giving them a cumulative total of 136 with 21 active cases.

Other cases across the state include 18 in Minnehaha, 8 in Lincoln, 3 in Union, 2 in Mellette and one each in Beadle, Deuel, Hanson, Kingsbury and Lake counties.

The statewide active caseload is 917 Monday, up 9 from Sunday. There are 47 people hospitalized, down 1 from Sunday.

With no new deaths, the number of COVID-19 related deaths remained at 123.
