Rapid City Post 22 sweeps Mitchell Post 18

MITCHELL, S.D. – Rapid City Post 22 swept Mitchell Post 18 in a doubleheader Saturday.

In the first game Post 22 scored seven runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back en-route to a 12-2 win.

Peyton Tipton had 3 hits to help lead Post 22 and Thomas Maguire added 4 R.B.I.’s.

Hunter Tillery got the pitching win, going all seven innings and striking out 8 Mitchell batters.

In a much closer game two, the Hardhats escaped with a 6-5 win.

Post 22 opened the game with 4 runs in the top of the first, and added another run in the second.

The deciding run for Post 22 came in the fourth inning as the held off a late rally by Mitchell, who had closed to within a run in the bottom of the fifth.

Jake Goble and Colton Hartford each had 2 hits and 2 R.B.I.’s to lead the Hardhats.
