Scoopers fall to Stevens

Rapid City Stevens too much for Scooper girls, boys

RAPID CITY, S.D. - Both Rapid City Stevens girls' and boys' basketball teams picked up wins over Sturgis in Friday night basketball.

The Raider girls outscored Sturgis 13-8 down the stretch to beat the Scoopers 41-31 and the Raider boys erased the 3-point deficit in the first quarter to lead Sturgis by eight at half and rolled to a 46-34 victory.

In the girls' game, Kyah Watson scored 10 points and Grace Martin added 9 as they improved to 8-1 on the season.

Olivia Jolley and Loralee Stock each scored 10 to pace the Scoopers

For the boys, Mason Steel dominated in the post in the fourth quarter as Stevens pulled away form Sturgis in the fourth, outscoring Sturgis 14-9.

Dylan Pourier added 12 points or Stevens.

The Scoopers were led by Ryan Garland's 13 points.

The Scoopers have now lost two in a row and are 7-2 on the season. The Raiders improve to 7-2.
