Road closures in the Black Hills early Tuesday morning due to storm

STURGIS, S.D. – No travel advisories and road closures were for up early Tuesday morning for the Black Hills and Highway 34.

Highways 14A, 385 and 85 were closed earlier this morning, but Safe Travel USA now shows them open – although they are snow to ice covered and slippery.

The same goes for I-90 from the Wyoming State Line out to central South Dakota.

Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect for the northern and black hills until 11:00 this morning.

Some snow totals coming in include 6-inches near Whitewood,  5 inches at Hereford, nearly 10 inches at Rockerville, 8-inches at Hermosa, 7.3-inches at Piedmont and 8.6-inches in west Rapid City.

The snow is expected to taper off as the day progresses, but the wind will continue the blowing and drifting of snow.

STURGIS, S.D. – No travel advisories and road closures are out for the Black Hills and Highway 34 as the latest winter storm continues Tuesday morning.

Safe Travel USA reports several highways in the black hills are closed, including Highways 14A, 385 and 85. Highway 34 east of Sturgis to Union Center is also closed.

Several localities have no travel advisories early this morning as well, including Sturgis.

Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect for the northern and black hills until 11:00 this morning.
