State reports 14 new deaths, 321 new COVID-19 cases Saturday

PIERRE, S.D. - The South Dakota Department of Health reported 14 new deaths and 321 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday. Of the new cases, 84 are considered probable.

Hospitalizations were down today to 234 and active cases also dropped to 5,040.
There were 67 confirmed cases reported West River with Pennington County recording the most with 37.

There were 10 in Meade County, 9 in Lawrence County, three each in Butte and Oglala Lakota Counties, two in Dewey County, and one each in Tripp, Todd, and Fall River Counties.

Health officials say 24 new probable cases were reported West River: eight each in Dewey and Pennington Counties, two each in Ziebach and Lyman Counties, and one each in Perkins, Meade, Butte, and Todd Counties.

There were 1,292 new persons tested reported on Saturday. Saturday’s new person tested positivity rate is 24%.
