Sunday COVID cases up 90, with one new death reported

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 90 new COVID-19 cases Sunday with one new death.

The new death was reported out of Todd County, their fourth COVID-19 related death. The new death sends the statewide number to 123.

Around the Black Hills area, Pennington County had 4 new positive COVID-19 tests reported, giving them a cumulative total of 778. The active number of cases in Pennington is down four today to 126.

In Meade County, two new cases were reported, giving them a cumulative total of 65 with 9 active cases.

Lawrence and Butte counties had no new cases to report today, but did have two new recoveries. Both counties now have just 2 active cases.

Oglala Lakota County reported an additional two new cases, giving them a cumulative total of 134 and 19 of those remain active.

The statewide active number of cases is up 32 today to 908. There are currently 48 people hospitalized, up two from Saturday.
