Wrestling Recap - Stevens wins Madison Invite

MADISON, S.D. - Rapid City Stevens won the team title at the Madison Invitational Saturday in high school wrestling.

The Raiders only crowned on individual champion, but placed enough wrestlers in top brackets to win with 197 points.

Cooper Voorhees was the lone Raider champion at 152 pounds.

Sturgis placed second with 149 points and crowned two champions. They were Jacob Wood at 120 pounds and Wren Jacobs at 160.

Home team Madison finished in third and Chamberlain was fourth.

In other wrestling action, Custer-Edgemont crowned five individual champions and ran away with the Hot Springs Holiday Extravaganza.

The Wildcats finished with 232 points. Philip came in a strong second with 183.5 and Lead-Deadwood placed third with 141.5 points.

Winning titles for Custer-Edgemont were Logan Graf at 106 pounds, Jestyn Woodward at 113, Chance Grill at 152, Levi Mines at 160 and Micaiah Grace at 170.

Philip crowned three individual winners in Jadyn Coller at 126, McCoy Peterson at 138 and Cody Donnelly at 182.
