The Associated Press - May 5, 2019

LANDER, Wyo-- Wyoming lawmakers are taking another look at tax proposals that failed to pass this year, including a corporate income tax for large retailers.

The Casper Star Tribune reports that the Legislature's Joint Revenue Committee met last week in Lander and voted to continue work on proposals to continuing discussions on the National Retail Fairness Act.

The act wouild have imposed an income tax on retail corporations with more than 100 shareholders. It was killed in the last session amid immense pressure from industry lobbyists and the state Republican Party.

The commitee decided against working on other failed tax proposals before the next session, including a lodging tax, a personal income tax and taxes on food and services.
