A dozen new deaths among cases reported in weekly COVID-19 report

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported a dozen new deaths in their weekly COVID-19 report.

The new deaths included two out of Pennington County and sent the state’s death toll among cases to 3,145.

There were 464 new cases reported with 321 cases remaining active.

Health officials reported 57 hospitalizations total with 24 new hospitalizations over the past week.

New cases across the Black Hills included 52 out of Pennington County and 8 new cases each in Lawrence and Meade counties.

Elsewhere, Fall River County had 9 new cases, Butte and Custer County each added 6 and Oglala Lakota County reported 5 new cases.
