Active cases decline in Saturday’s COVID-19 report

PIERRE, S.D. — On Saturday, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 109 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 107,147.

Twenty-eight of the 137 total cases are considered as new probable cases.

One new death was reported, bringing the state death toll to 1,958.

Twenty-five confirmed cases were reported West River: 16 in Pennington County, five in Butte County, two in Custer County, and one each in Meade and Fall River Counties.

Two new probable cases were reported West River: one each in Stanley and Pennington Counties.

In South Dakota, 1,871 cases are considered active, that number is down from 1,955 on Friday.

An additional 219 people have recovered from the virus, which puts the total number of recoveries at 118,157.

The number of people hospitalized in Saturday’s report is 104.  A total of 7,293 have been hospitalized since the pandemic began.
