Active cases of COVID-19 fall below 200 Tuesday; 25 new cases reported

PIERRE, S.D. – New COVID-19 cases Tuesday totaled 25 statewide, with 2 of those listed as probable cases.

State health officials say active cases continue their downward trend, shedding another 31 today to below 200 at 186.

The number of people hospitalized due to COVID-19 dropped 5 to 29.

No new COVID-19-related deaths were reported today, keeping the state’s total at 2,026.

Pennington County ad 7 new cases today, sending their cumulative total since the pandemic began to 13,880.

Meade County added 2 new cases Tuesday with Lawrence County and Fall River County each reporting one.

As of Tuesday, 55.92% of the population 12-years-old and above has received at least one dose while 51.16% have completed the vaccination series.
