Active COVID-19 cases see another drop in Thursday report

PIERRE, S.D. – New cases of COVID-19 continue their average decline across the state as health officials reported 34 new cases Thursday. Of those 34 new cases, 6 were listed as probable.

Active cases of COVID-19 was down by five today to 416. The number of people hospitalized was up one over yesterday to 49.

No new deaths were reported, keeping the state’s death toll at 2,004.

Across the Black Hills area, there were 15 confirmed cases and 2 probable cases.

Pennington County had the 2 probable cases along with 8 confirmed.

Butte County added 4 new cases Thursday. Butte has seen an uptick in cases this week – 13 since Monday – sending the cumulative total to 1,079.

Meade County added 3 new cases today, sending the cumulative total to 2,783.
