Aleen K. Ford, 64, Deadwood, SD passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital. Memorial Services for Aleen will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 22, 2024 at Black Hills Funeral Home in Sturgis. Arrangements are under the care of Kinkade Funeral Chapel.
Aleen Kay Bennett was born January 12, 1960 to Albert and Fern (Fife) Bennett in Deadwood. She was raised in Lead, where she graduated from high school.
Aleen married Bobby Christofferson in April 1981. She loved living on the farm and enjoyed her large garden. Overwhelming joy entered their lives with the adoption Katherine Fern in 1995. Bobby died from injuries received in a 2003 construction accident.
Aleen was very involved in Lead Job’s Daughters in high school while holding many offices including Honored Queen. She was Guardian of the Spearfish Job’s Daughters. Aleen received the Royal Purple Degree. She participated in Easter Star with both of her parents.
Aleen married Kyle Ford on May 8, 2016 at the Spearfish United Methodist Church. Aleen loved her 2 grandsons and eventually had 5 grandchildren after marrying Kyle.
Comments about Aleen included, “She was such a firecracker, the essence of fun and fellow appreciator of mischief.” A cousin noted, “She was one of a kind.” Our local Pine Island, MN chiropractor said, “You never knew what she would say, but you knew it would be entertaining.”
Survivors include her husband Kyle Ford, Deadwood; daughter, Katie (Jason) Nelson, MO; step-children, Sonja Ford, Tyler Ford; two grandchildren, Alucard Nelson, Rhys Nelson; three step-grandchildren, Elijah Dejane, Azra Ford, Jack Ford; two sisters’ Nadeen (Mike) Lunde and Colleen Love. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Fern Bennett.
In lieu of flowers, St. Jude Cancer Research has been selected for memorials.
