UNDATED – The selections for All State Football have been announced and the Sturgis Scoopes landed two on the All State team for Class 11AA.
Konner Berndt of Sturgis ran for 1,209 years and scored 10 touchdowns to earn his spot on the squad. He was joined by teammate Reese Jacobs, who racked up over 80 tackles and scored a pair of sacks in making the team.
Elsewhere in Class 11AA, Spearfish saw two players make the All State team. They were lineman Pierce Miller and linebacker Brady Hartwig.
Douglas’ Jason Maciejczak made the team for his great work at offensive lineman.
In Class 11A, Custer saw Gage Tennyson make the team, along with Quincy Means of Lakota Tech.
In Class 9A, Wall had five players make the selection. They include running back Cedar Amiotte, who finished 2021 with over 11-hundered yards rushing and 17 touchdowns. He was joined by receiver Rylan McDonnell, lineman Cayne Krogman and Norman Livermont and kicker Blair Blasius.
Also making the 9A team was lineman Reece Ohrtman of Kadoka.
And, in Class 9B, two players from New Underwood made All State. They were Logan Albers and Emmit Richter.
Grey Gilbert of Harding County made the team as an offensive lineman and his teammate Cade Martian made the squad under the special teams cateogry.
Faith lineman Gabe Bushong was selected for his great defensive year in which he tallied seven sacks and batted down four passes.
