RAPID CITY, S.D. – On Monday, a man accused of being involved in last week’s fatal shooting made his initial appearance in court.
Ezekiel Mayweather, 24, was charged with aiding and abetting a first-degree murder in the death of Esther Wolfe.
He appeared in court with his attorney to discuss bond and to set a date for his next hearing.
Prosecutors recommended $50,000 cash-only bail, citing the severity of the crime. Magistrate Judge Scott Bogue agreed.
If convicted on the murder charge, Mayweather faces the death penalty or life in prison.
