Anne Jo Clark

Anne Jo Clark, age 56, of Wall, South Dakota, died on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at the Hospice House in Rapid City.

Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. on Friday, August 25, at the Wall Community Center.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26, at the Wall Community Center.

Interment will be at the Wall Cemetery.

Ann Jolene “ Anne Jo” (Holsether) Clark was born December 5, 1966 in Viborg, SD to Charles Holsether and Lucille (Hamann) Holsether. She was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran in Yankton and confirmed in the Methodist Church of Wall. She attended school in Viborg and Wall High School where she earned her High School Diploma. She then studied at Black Hills Beauty College earning her Cosmetology license.

She served her community in many different fashions working with patrons at Wall Drug, Clark’s Food Center, the Pennington County Courant, and the Badland’s Grille & Saloon. She volunteered her time helping the Wall Fire Department and the Wall Celebration Committee. No matter the function or the place she always greeted others with a friendly smile.

Anne Jo and Jeff Clark were united in marriage May 27, 1994 at the First Lutheran Church of Wall. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She enjoyed watching them grow and hearing about all their daily adventures.

Her calming presence and genuine hugs were something that will leave an everlasting impression. Throughout her life she showed perseverance and courage to overcome whatever was thrown her way. Anne Jo’s ever-present positive attitude kept her always looking towards a new day. Up until her last moment she was always determined to fight the fight.

Survivors include her husband Jeff of Wall; three children Ryan (Skye) Holsether of Philip, Taunia (Jason) Vande Stouwe of Inwood, Iowa, and Tyrel (Kiara Allen) Clark of Hot Springs; two step-daughters Abbie Eisenbraun and Laney Holtquist, both of Rapid City; six grandchildren Hadlee, Korbin and Ridge Vande Stouwe, Karsyn Clark, Aspyn Allen, and Wrenly Holsether; three step-grandchildren; her mother Lucille Holsether of Wall; her father Chuck (Jonny) Holsether of Wall; her grandmother Dorothy Hamann of Rapid City; three sisters Terry (Mark) Kabris of Rapid City, Tami (Brian) Bjerkaas of Viborg, and Angie (Kent) Anderson of Alcester; a special friend Janae Hagberg; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Anne Jo was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Roy Hamann; and her paternal grandparents Carl and Elsie Holsether.

 

A memorial has been established.

Arrangements are with Rush Funeral Home of Wall.
