SPEARFISH, S.D. – The annual Queen City Classic Track and Field Meet was held Friday on the campus of Black Hills State University in Spearfish.
Aiden Hedderman of Sturgis brought home first place in the 110 meter hurdles, as he edged out Aiden O’Leary of Sheridan by less than a second. O’Leary, though, would return the favor on Hedderman and capture the 300 meter hurdles – again, buy less than a second.
Hedderman would also capture the pole vault title for the Scoopers, giving him two wins on the day. Scooper Avery Marler also added a win on the girls side by capturing the the 400 meters in a time of 59.59.
In the 3,200 meters, Ty Petrocco of Sturgis ran a great race, and finished second behind Lane Krautschun of Belle Fourche.
The Sturgis boys also captured the 1,600 special relay and the Scooper girls finished second in the 4,800 meter relay.
