RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Area Schools Cross Country Invitational was held Friday at Hart Ranch Resort.
In the men’s race, Patrick Hardesty of Thunder Basin, Wyoming captured first place, finishing in a time of 16:10.37. Mikah Peters of Brandon Valley was second and Gideon Moore of Laramie, Wyoming was third.
Ty Petrocco of Sturgis finished in fourth place, with a time of 16:22.36.
In the women’s race, Brianna Reilly of Harrisburg finished in first in a time of 18:19.85. Hannah Genrich of Harrisburg was second and Ellie Maddox of Sioux Falls Christian was third.
Top placing area athlete was Peyton VanDeest of Spearfish, who finished in 6th.
In the team standings, Sheridan captured the men’s title with Rapid City Stevens second and Sioux Falls Christian third. Sturgis finished in sixth place.
In the women’s race, Harrisburg won the title with Brandon Valley second and Sioux Falls Christian was third. Sturgis placed 15th.
