Area athletes compete at West River AA Field Fest

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Athletes from Rapid City Stevens, Rapid City Central, Sturgis and Spearfish took part in the Class AA Field Fest at Sioux Park in Rapid City Thursday.

On the boys’ side, William Paepke of Central won the shot put with Scooper Aaron Morovits placing third. Conner Warren of Central had the longest throw on the discus with Morovits also finishing in third in that event.

Levi Brant of Sturgis won the javelin, with a throw of 146′ with Jonathan Rhead of Stevens placing second.

Beck Morgan of Stevens won the high jump, Brody Janvrin of Spearfish captured the pole vault and Killian Petersen of Central won the long jump.  Isaac Flanegan of Central captured the triple jump.

On the girls’ side, Isabell Higgins a two-event winner, capturing the shot put and the discus.

Brienna Brewer of Stevens won the javelin, Adelyn Bouman of Spearfish captured the high jump and Gretchen Adamski of Spearfish won the pole vault.

Rebecca Theis of Stevens won both the long jump and triple jump.

For Scooper athletes, Sophia Gire placed fourth in the shot put, Ireland Nacey was fourth in the javelin, Danica Dschaak placed fourth in the high jump and Rachael Banks was third in the long jump and fifth in the triple jump.
