Area athletes open up track and field season at Rapid City Developpmental

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City  Developmental opened up the 2021 track and field season for area athletes on Saturday.

On the boys side:

Blake Boyster of Custer won the 100 meters and 200 meters. Bridger Roberdeau of Spearfish captured the 400 and Simon Birnbaum of Stevens won the 800 and 1600 meters. Max Ensor of Spearfish captured the 3200 meters.

In the hurdles, Mical Grace of Custer won the 110 meter hurdles and Brodie Eisenbraun of Sturgis captured the 300 meter hurdles.

Rapid City Stevens won the 4×100 meter relay, and Spearfish captured the 4×800 meter relay.

Jason Maciejczak of Douglas won the shot put, Quincy Warren of Rapid City Central won the discus, Brayden Delahoyde of Spearfish won the high jump, Julian Swallow of RC Central won the long jump and triple jump, and Sumner Griffin of RC Central won the pole  vault.

On the girls side;

Matayah Yellow Mule of Rapid City Central won the 100 meters, Jordyn Larsen of Custer captured the 200, Carsyn Mettler of Stevens won the 400, Brionna Holso of Stevens won the 800, A.J. Carr of Stevens won the 1,600 and Logan Bunney of Spearfish won the 3200. For the Scoopers, Sawyer Dennis placed third in the 100, third in the 200 and second in the 400 meters.

In the hurdles, Anna Lewis of Custer won the 100 meter and Maria Bouman of Spearfish won the 300 meters.

Custer won the 4×100 relay,  and Spearfish won the 4×800 meter relay.

Kellyn Kortemyer of Custer won the Shot Put and discus, Matayah Yellow Mule won the high jump, Claire Fiero of Stevens won the long jump, Madeline Cross of Spearfish won the pole vault, and Makayla Keffeler of Sturgis won the triple jump.
