RAPID CITY, S.D. – The man charged with attempted murder in a Rapid Valley shooting was arraigned in Seventh Circuit Court Tuesday.
Travis Chipps, 18, pleaded not guilty to attempted first-degree murder.
Chipps was arrested following an incident in October when police were called to an area near Apple Tree Road after receiving reports of a man knocking on doors asking for help after being shot.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious, non life-threatening injuries.
Chipps’ next hearing is set for Jan. 7.
If convicted, he faces a maximum of 25 years in the state penitentiary.
