Attorney General says public plays key role in shutting down scammers

UNDATED – The Consumer Protection Division of the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office has a new addition.

Former Hughes County State’s Attorney Jessica LaMie began her new job this month as an assistant attorney general for the Consumer Protection Division.

Attorney General Marty Jackley says identifying and shutting down scammers is something near and dear to his heart.

Jackley says the public can play a key role in shutting down scammers by letting his office know when they’ve been victimized.

Information on scams, and the place to report one, can be found online at consumer.sd.gov.
