RAPID CITY, S.D. – Police in Rapid City say they have safely captured a suspect they had been looking for Tuesday.
The suspect was taken into custody at approximately 10:30 last night in the 2500 block of Tower Road.
Rapid City Police say around noon on Tuesday they learned about a potential robbery, aggravated assault, and kidnapping and they began an active search for the suspect.
Assistant Police Chief Don Hedrick identified the suspect as 27 year old Frank Makes Room For Them of Rapid City.
Hedrick said they had been looking for the man and tracked him down to a hotel room.
Police believed the suspect was armed, so the Special Response Team was brought in to help apprehend him.
Hedrick said it’s an ongoing investigation and the safe capture was a joint effort between the RCPD, Sheriff’s Office, Highway Patrol, Fire Department, and dispatch.
Authorities say charges against the suspect are pending.
