CUSTER, S.D. – The highway patrol has identified a man and woman who were killed when the moped they were riding struck a car at the intersection of U.S. Highway 16A and Washington Street in Custer.

The patrol says 67-year-old Michael Congrove and 74-year-old Donna Champeau, both from Wisconsin, died after their moped struck a Subaru Outback that had reportedly pulled out in front of them.

The moped was traveling eastbound on Highway 16A toward Washington Street when the accident occurred. The patrol says the driver of the Subaru and a passenger were not hurt.
