RAPID CITY, S.D. – Authorities are planning another search for Serenity Dennard this week – taking advantage of some mild weather ahead of winter.
Serenity has been missing since February 1, when she ran away from the Black Hills Children’s Home.
The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office says they want to bring in more out of state dog teams to help with the search. In the meantime, the department continues to pursue leads in 35 different states.
Last week, a group of investigators gathered to review Serenity’s case looking for any errors and determining the next steps to take.
Thom said with winter weather conditions approaching they are going to take advantage of the days this week before they may have to halt the search.
If Serenity is not found, Thom says the team is discussing if they will resume the search again in the spring.
