RAPID CITY, S.D. – Authorities are investigating a drowning at Angostura Reservoir.
According to the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, their Water Rescue team was dispatched to Angostura at 1:23 p.m. Wednesday for assistance in the recovery of an individual.
Divers recovered the body at around 7:00 p.m.
Fall River County officials say the drowning is not boat-related but no other information regarding the incident has been released yet.
Officials plan to perform an autopsy on Thursday.
The name of the drowning victim has not been released pending notification of next-of-kin.
Agencies responding to the call include the Fall River County Sheriff’s Office, Fall River County Emergency Management, Game Fish & Parks , Hot Springs Ambulance, Pennington County/Rapid City Water Rescue Team, and Pennington County Search & Rescue.
