Beef and brews on tap for annual Sturgis Beef Throw Down

PIERRE, SD- The “Sturgis Beef Throw Down” will take place with Food Network Celebrity Chef Justin Warner leading the tour to some of South Dakota’s favorite Black Hills breweries during the 80th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

The venue allows beef to reach nearly a half million consumers from all over the world throughout the 10 day event scheduled for August 7-16, 2020.

Local ranchers will travel alongside Warner and will choose the “Beef Throw Down Champion” based on the breweries signature beef dish and perfect brew. The brewery crowned “Beef Throw Down” champion will earn a team slot in the Sanford International Senior PGA Pro-Am Tour taking place September 7-13, 2020, in Sioux Falls, SD.

New to the event this year is a People’s Choice award in which attendees can participate in the fun as they select their favorite beef and beer paired destination. “We always look for unique opportunities to expand our footprint and I feel this year’s event puts a creative twist to the contest as beef and beer pairings continue to grow in popularity”, states executive director Suzy Geppert, with the South Dakota Beef Industry Council that sponsors the event. “We encourage attendees to spend time experiencing all the Black Hills has to offer including our favorite protein, BEEF!”

Attendees can find a Beef, Beer, and Bikers brochure at rally headquarters in downtown Sturgis. Attendees will have the opportunity to travel to participating breweries to purchase the signature beef dish with the breweries perfect brew.  Participants can scan the QR code on the brochure or one of the participating brewery banners to access the online entry giveaway that includes multiple chances to win hundreds of dollars in Beef Bucks as well as an opportunity to vote for their favorite brewery.
