HURON, SD – On November 1 from noon to 1 p.m. Eastern, join the National Farmers Union (NFU) and the American Economic Liberties Project (AELP) for a virtual event: “Beefing Up Antitrust Enforcement: How to Revitalize American Agriculture.”
The event will feature Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison and USDA Senior Advisor for Fair and Competitive Markets Andy Green. NFU Vice President Patty Edelburg will also be providing remarks.
As NFU continues with the Fairness for Farmers campaign, this event will help explain the role the federal government can play in strengthening the now 100-year old Packers and Stockyards Act. This Act has a central role to play in protecting cattle ranchers, hog farmers, and poultry growers from the power of multinational meatpackers.
