BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. – Both the Scooper girls and boys basketball teams fell to Belle Fourche in Tuesday night action.
In the girls game, Savannah Rosales and Kaylin Garza each scored 9 points to lead the Broncs to a 42-30 victory.
Sturgis lead by 3 after the first quarter, but Belle Fourche would quickly take the lead for good in the second quarter.
Sturgis struggled with turnovers and from the free throw line, where they went 1 for 12.
In the boys game, Belle Fourche jumped out to a 13-9 first quarter lead and never looked back — shaking off a later Sturgis rally to win 56-48.
Kelby Olson led the Bronc offense with 21 points while his teammate Colby Nowowiejski added 12.
Turnovers also hurt the Scooper boys who were led by Marcus Myrick’s 20 points.
