STURGIS, S.D. – Belle Fourche Post 32 held off the Sturgis Post 33 Titans Thursday night by scoring two runs in the final inning to win 4-2.
The game was tied at 2 headed into 7th when Nolan Wahlfeldt scored the go ahead run on a bunt by Caden Thomsen. The Broncs added an insurance run when Howard scored on a dropped third strike.
Wahlfeldt was also spectacular on the pitchers mound, striking out a dozen batters in 6-and-a-third innings of work.
The two teams each scored runs in the second and fourth innings. The Titans got scores from Aiden Wood in the second and Evan Stroud in the fourth.
Stroud came in for relief for starting pitcher Yaden Miller, who struck out five. Stroud struck out four.
Sturgis falls to 1-11 on the season and will host Loveland, CO on Friday night.
