Belle Fourche mobile home total loss after weekend fire

BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. – Belle Fourche and Spearfish Fire crews battled a structure fire Saturday afternoon that has left a man and his dog without a home.

Belle Fourche Fire Chief Aaron Thramer says crews were dispatched to the fire around 3:00 p.m. Upon arrival, the mobile home off Sourdough Road was engulfed in flames.

Crews were able to keep the fire confined to the structure of origin.

Thramer says the homeowner was not home at the time and no injuries were reported.

He says the cause appears to be a pile of rags used for staining that caught fire.

Belle Fourche fire crews were aided by the Spearfish Fire Department, Belle Fourche Ambulance, Belle Fourche Police Department and Butte County Sheriff’s Office.
