BELLE FOURCHE, SD — The Belle Fourche Bronc volleyball team came out firing on all cylinders and took all three sets from Sturgis at Ed Petranek Armory on Tuesday night.
The Broncs beat the Scoopers 25-15, 25-19 and 25-16.
Belle Fourche (1-0), was led by senior Kaylin Garza, who had 8 kills, four blocks and one assist. Sophomore Mataya Ward contributed 11 kills, two blocks and one ace. Senior Joellen Cano had nine kills and two aces for Sturgis (0-1), who hit the road this weekend for road matches in eastern South Dakota, then return home to play St. Thomas More in Rapid City next week. The Scoopers first home match is Thursday, Sept. 2 against Rapid City Christian at West Gymnasium.
