BHSU Football breaks single season scoring record with 75-0 victory

SPEARFISH, S.D. –  Black Hills State football had a record-breaking day Saturday afternoon, defeating Fort Lewis 75-0, and breaking the program record for points in a game in the process.

The Yellow Jackets (6-3, 4-3 RMAC) also secured their first winning season since 2016 when the team went 7-4. Their 633 yards of total offense is the most in a game since the program entered the NCAA.

Nolan Susel and Hasaan Williams each scored a pair of touchdowns. Susel totaled 72 yards on the ground while Williams racked up 64 receiving yards.

Jamin Wurtz led the receivers with 117 yards in the air and a touchdown. TJ Chukwurah and John Noordsy each also recorded a touchdown.

Cameron Goods totaled a team-high 88 yards on the ground, while Isaiah Pressley and Riley Bennett both had a rushing touchdown.

Nikolas Arnold led the way defensively with five tackles and two sacks. Kellen Collier also had five tackles, and Sebastian O’Farrell, Brock Jones, Keenan Eck, Cooper Brown, and Zaine Hood all recorded a sack.

Nicc Quinones had his first career pick six, cutting off a FLC route on the BHSU 15 yard line and taking it to the house for an 85-yard score.

Kicker, Coleman Chapman, was a perfect 2-for-2 on field goals, nailing one from 45 yards out and the other from 47. He was 9-of-10 on extra points.
