SPEARFISH, S.D. – Black Hills State men’s basketball took No. 4 Colorado Mines into overtime but fell 85-83 Monday night at the Donald E. Young Center.
The Yellow Jackets (2-2, 2-2 RMAC) used another strong showing in the second half, outscoring CSM 43-28 in the period, to force overtime but their 53.6 percent (15-28) shooting at the charity stripe loomed large down the stretch.
Joel Scott led the team with 16 points and eight rebounds along with his three assists and a steal.
Adam Moussa dished a team leading four assists to go along with his 13 points, including a team-high three 3-pointers.

The Yellow Jackets had everyone on the edge of their seats Monday night in an exciting and intense overtime win over the Orediggers.
Coming into the night both teams boasted impressive one loss records with the Yellow Jackets holding a 5-1 record and the Orediggers holding a 3-1 record in the RMAC.
Overtime turned in the favor of the Jackets with a perfectly timed steal by Megan Engesser to start play and perfect shooting by both Ashlee Beacom (3-of-3) and Niki Van Wyk (2-of-2) as the Yellow Jackets won 73-71.
In other area college basketball action, Western Colorado edged the South Dakota Mines Women’s basketball team 79-72.
