BHSU men fend off Cougars; women also win

LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Black Hills State men’s basketball played tough Friday night, topping Colorado Christian, 80-73.

The Yellow Jackets (13-4, 11-1 RMAC) pulled away in the second half of the game which had 20 lead changes, shooting over 57 percent from the field, and making 20 free throws.

Joel Scott led all scorers with 27 points to go along with 11 rebounds, a block and an assist while going 10-of-16 from the charity stripe. Scott tallies a double-double for the 13th time this season.

Adam Moussa dished out a team-leading five assists while totaling 15 points, two steals, a block and a rebound.

Sindou Cisse scored 16 with six rebounds, four assists and two blocks while Sava Dukic finished with 11 points and three assists.

LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Black Hills State women’s basketball defeated Colorado Christian University 70-59 Friday night on the road in Lakewood.

It was a tale of two halves in Lakewood Friday night as the Yellow Jackets (11-7, 9-3 RMAC) opened the night slow on offense against the Mountain Lions before a booming second half gave BHSU the road victory.

BHSU had three players in double digits with Haylee Weathersby and Danica Kocer each recording 15 and Ashley Davis tallying 14.
