GOLDEN, Colo. – Black Hills State men’s basketball used a strong second-half performance to sink Colorado Mines, 78-72 Saturday night.
The Yellow Jackets (9-3, 7-0 RMAC) had three in double-digit scoring, and shot 64.5 percent from the field and 60 percent from beyond the arc as a team in the second half.
Joel Scott tallied a team-leading 23 points and 14 rebounds to record his ninth double-double of the season. Scott also finished with two assists and two blocks.
Tommy Donovan scored a career-best 20 points, going 8-of-10 from the field and 3-of-4 from deep.
Meanwhile, Black Hills State women’s basketball team fell to #16 Colorado Mines 67-55 Saturday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets (7-7, 5-3 RMAC) had two double digit scorers in the contest with Ashley Davis leading the way tallying 11 points and Morgan Hammerbeck close behind with 10.
Defensively Ashlee Beacom led the team with eight rebounds while Davis and Summer Fox were each able to record three steals.
