HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 3
• This game was an absolute pitcher’s duel early, through four innings, BHSU only had two hits and four walks, they had an opportunity in the third when they had runners on second and third with one out, but were unable to bring anyone home, so through four innings, the score was 0-0.
• In the fifth, Tyler Whitlock started with a double to lead off the inning and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt, Desi Hernadez grounded out to the first basemen, which kept Whitlock at third, which brought up Pauwels, who absolutely smoked the ball to left center for a two-run home run giving BHSU the 2-0 lead. This was immediately followed up by Taylor Dowden hitting a solo home run of her own to grow the lead to 3-0. Belle Akins entered the game and gave up a double to Alyssa Wong before striking out Carli Maley to end the inning.
• Peskey entered the sixth inning throwing a no-hitter, but that was immediately ended by pinch hitter Brogan Allen hitting a solo home run to right center. Peskey would get the next two batters out, before allowing another solo home run to Lauren Zimmerman, which cut the Yellow Jackets’ lead to 3-2. After walking Ashland Baca, Peskey settled down and struck out Jazlyn Arvizo to end the top half of the inning. BHSU blew it open in the bottom half of the sixth as Katelyn Jarzobski hit a pinch hit single to lead off the inning. Carly Reyes Mims would sacrifice bunt her to second before Tyler Whitlock would single to score Jarzobski. Whitlock would advance to second on the throw and then to third on a sac bunt by Lily Simmons to put Whitlock on third with two outs. Hernandez then hit a two-run homer directly over the center field wall to give BHSU a 6-2 lead. Akins was replaced by Destrie Greiman, and she immediately gave up a solo homer to Pauwels, who hit her second of the day to give BHSU a 7-2 lead. That RBI would make Pauwels the BHSU all-time leader in career RBIs. The inning wasn’t over yet, with two outs, Dowden walked, Wong singled her to third, and Maley singled her home and advanced Wong to second. Jarzobski reached on an error to make it bases loaded for Gracie Oswald to have her second walk-off chance in as many days, but she grounded out to end the inning. The damage had already been done, however, as BHSU had an 8-2 lead heading into the final frame. Peskey struck out two of the four batters she faced to give BHSU the series win at 8-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED- GAME 4
• This one did not start great for the Yellow Jackets. On the opening play, Aliyah Rothstein laid down a bunt, and Pauwels fielded it and missed the throw to Audrey Fouras covering first, and the ball went into the outfield allowing Rothstein to reach third. J’lyssa Martinez hit a two-run homer on the first pitch to give Chadron a 2-0 lead early.
• After that inning, Paige Goodell replaced Caitlyn Hoff to make her Yellow Jacket debut and really kept BHSU in this game, not allowing a run in the second and third innings. She ran into trouble in the fourth walked Arvizo with one out, then after inducing a groundout, she allowed a double to Elizabeth Thorngren that scored Arvizo. Which gave Chadron State a 3-0 lead late.
• BHSU really couldn’t get anything going offensively. They had runners at third twice up to the sixth inning, but could not get them across the plate, finally in the sixth inning, Simmons walked to start the inning, and after a Hernandez fly out, Pauwels did it again, hitting a two-run home run down the right field line to cut Chadron’s lead to 3-2. Goodell got out of trouble in the top of the seventh giving BHSU a chance to tie or win it in the bottom of the last inning. However, Kenzi Garner sent BHSU down 1-2-3 to give Chadron their first win of the series 3-2.
