STURGIS, S.D. – The Mitchell Post 18 legion baseball team led 3-0 after one inning and used a four-run seventh inning to seal a 9-4 win over the Sturgis Post 33 Titans on Thursday night at Strong Field.Â
Mitchell pounded out 10 hits and were led by Jonah Schmidt, who went 2-for-5 with a three RBI triple in the top of the seventh.Â
Dylan Soulek got the win for Post 18 (14-6), throwing 95 pitches over six innings, walking five and striking out three. Owen Cass took the loss for Sturgis.Â
Post 33 had eight hits, six errors and seven left on base. Kain Peters and Evan Stroud each had two hits for Sturgis (6-13).
The Titans travel to Alliance, NE to take part in a weekend tournament Friday and Saturday. Â
