Bills, Eagles get victories in Monday Night Football Twin Bill

UNDATED – Monday Night Football featured two games with Tennessee and Buffalo playing in the first game, followed by Minnesota and Philadelphia in the second.

TENNESSEE AT BUFFALO

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have plenty to fix and little time to do it.

Tennessee is 0-2 for the first time in 10 years after getting pounded 41-7 by the Buffalo Bills.

The margin of defeat was the worst in five seasons under coach Mike Vrabel. Nothing went right against Buffalo. Ryan Tannehill was benched after throwing his second interception, which was returned for a touchdown.

The Titans’ defense was torched, allowing 313 yards passing and Josh Allen throwing four touchdowns, including three to Stefon Diggs.

MINNESOTA AT PHILADELPHIA

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson and quarterback Kirk Cousins both had rough games in a 24-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night. Cousins was 27 for 46 for 221 yards and one touchdown.

Jefferson had six receptions for 48 yards. Cousins was the leading rusher with only 20 yards. Cousins’ lone TD pass was a 2-yard score to Irv Smith in the second quarter that made it 14-7.

The Vikings play the Detroit Lions on Sunday. It’s an opportunity for the Vikings to show if the opening-week win against Green Bay was an early-season fluke or if the dreary effort against the Eagles is something that will linger.
