Black Hills Conference Wrestling – Custer wins boys, Spearfish captures girls title

LEAD, S.D. — At the Black Hills Conference Wrestling Tournament Saturday, Spearfish captured the girls team title and Custer won the boys.

Spearfish finished with 140 points with Belle Fourche a distant second at 89.5. Custer was fourth.

The Spartans had five individual champions, including Maraia Kruske at 106, Madelynn Schlup at 120, Candice Matsude at 126, Taylor Graveman at 132 and Marlee Heltzel at 170 pounds.

In the boys results, Custer won the team title with 267.5 points. Douglas/RC Christian/New Underwood placed second with 156.5 and Spearfish was third with 114.5.

The Wildcats won nine individual titles and placed 13 wrestlers in the top three.

Custer Wildcats who won individual titles included Tyler Trant at 106 pounds, Tray Weiss at 113 pounds, Landon Woodward at 126 pounds, Riley Scott at 132 pounds, Jonathan Lewis at 160 pounds, Ryder Bailey at 170 pounds, Parker Noem at 182 pounds, Grady Lehrkamp at 220 pounds and Zayne Severyn at 285 pounds.
