Bob Wallace

Bob Wallace, age 81, of Lemmon, SD, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at the Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon, SD.

Memorial services for Bob will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Prince of Peace Chapel of the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon, SD. Pastor TJ Shockley will officiate and military honors will be afforded by the Brattvet-Green American Legion Post #66 of Lemmon.

Robert “Bob” was born on October 5, 1942 to Robert & Gladys Wallace in Elgin, ND. Bob attended ND Country School and then graduated in 1960 from Lemmon High School.

After graduation, Bob joined the National Guard and was called to active duty where he was stationed in Fort Lewis from October 15, 1961 to August 1, 1962.

In 1965, Bob was united in marriage to Louise Lensegrav and to this union Carla and Kurt were born. They lived on a family operated farm near Meadow, SD. Later to move to Shadehill and operate Summerville Store and work for Game, Fish & Parks. After moving to Lemmon, Bob operated and sold feed for Purina. With being a jack of all trades, Bob worked for ABC Building Supply and was eager to help out anyone with miscellaneous odd jobs. Bob and Louise’ marriage ended in 1984.

In the early 90’s, started his years with Donna Creighton and family, with this special relationship an extended family of three children also

Then came grandkids, (the highlight of Bob’s Life) fishing, building things, tractor pulls, derby cars, rodeos, old vehicles & tractors and livestock, it was always an adventure. Bob always looked forward to the holidays, family gatherings and traveling to a ball game or a school program.

Another highlight in Bob’s life was getting together with cousins and reminiscing the old days of fun and adventures. Bob was blessed growing up close with lots of cousins. Cooking for family get together picnics and reunions, Bob always mentioned it would be good to get the girls together for making pulp one more time. Bob was never short on getting a laugh with a true story, joke or prank. Great Memories.

His final years were living at Five Counties Nursing Home due to failing health. Five Counties very quickly became his extended family. Bob was active in Resident Council, bingo, painting, flower arrangements, gardening, and carpentry projects.

Bob and his family are forever grateful for the care and memories experienced at FCNH. The family of Bob would like to thank the special extended Family of Five Counties Nursing Home Staff for the care given.

Bob is survived by his Daughter Carla Wallace, Daughter in law Carolyn Wallace, Grandchildren, Cory Kotek, Kaylee & Kenton MacArthur, Kendra Wallace, KyAnn and Darrett Buchanan, Christopher Wallace, Great Granddaughters, Jerika Stabler, Scout & Dru MacArthur, Step children, Mellisa Spangler, Lucynda & Mike Sanders & Casey & Christy Creighton, Step grandchildren, Dustina and Carson Chord, Jozlinn Paige, Tyrone & Saul Sanders, & Chace and Chloe Creighton.

He was preceded in death by his Parents Robert and Gladys Wallace, Son, Kurt Wallace, Grandson, Kylin Kotek and Special Friend, Donna Creighton.
