RAPID CITY, S.D. – Officials in Rapid city provided an update Saturday on a body found in a burned out vehicle.
The Pennington County Sheriff’s office says they’ve determined the incident was a non-criminal matter and that there are no signs of foul play.
No other information was provided.

ROCKERVILLE, S.D. — The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in the investigation of a fire that resulted in the discovery of a body.
Firefighters were called to a remote area off Foster Gulch Road in the Rockerville area at 9:41pm Thursday evening. According to a Facebook post from Pennington County Sheriff’s department, the caller reported hearing a loud popping sound, followed by seeing fire.
Fire crews contained the small wildfire estimated at a quarter acre. It was then they discovered a burned out vehicle with a body inside. Neither the person nor the vehicle have been identified at this time.
