Bomb threat leads to casino evacuation in Deadwood

DEADWOOD, S.D. – Police in Deadwood are investigating a bomb threat that led to the evacuation of the Franklin Silverado around 2:15 Monday.

Police say the suspect made mention the bombs were to go off at a specific time.

Deadwood Officers in combination with surrounding agencies worked fast and diligently in setting up a perimeter and evacuating employees and patrons.

A detailed search with the assistance of a Police Service Dog (PSD) of both properties yielded no suspicious activity or packages indicating a bomb was not on or near both properties.

Police say this incident is an ongoing investigation. If anyone has any information pertaining to this incident, please call the Deadwood Police Department. Tips can be anonymous.
