RAPID CITY, S.D. – Bond was reduced Wednesday for a man charged in the death of his sister while they were delivering food for an online app.
Nicklaus Houchin, 28, is charged with first-degree manslaughter in the death of 31-year-old Danielle Houchin.
Bond for Nicklaus was initially set at $100,000. Judge Matt Brown on Wednesday reset that to a $10,000 cash or surety bond.
Witnesses say Nicklaus Houchin was in a car with several others drinking and stopped at a local restaurant to pick up food when he and his sibling got into a physical fight.
First-degree manslaughter is a Class C felony in the State of South Dakota; if convicted, Houchin could face life in prison and a $50,000 fine.
