STURGIS, S.D. – The Meade County Sheriff’s Office arrested four people Monday morning following a drug bust.
Law enforcement responded to a suspicious vehicle call near the Valley Market Store in Piedmont at approximately 5:00 a.m. Monday morning.
After contacting the vehicle, Meade County Sheriff’s Deputies began an investigation into suspected impaired driving. The driver indicated he was traveling from Kentucky to Wyoming and was on his way to Kentucky.
Following the investigation, four people were arrested for multiple charges involving the possession of a significant amount of controlled substances.
The four were identified as Tracey Adkins, 41, McKee Kentucky, Arthur Clemmons, 65, McKee Kentucky, Rusty Clemmons, 47, Norman Park Georgia and Alexus Rose, 22, McKee Kentucky.
All four were taken to the Meade County Jail.
Authorities say over four pounds of suspected Ketamine were seized during the investigation. Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic that has some hallucinogenic effects. It distorts perceptions of sight and sound and makes the user feel disconnected and not in control.
