YANKTON, S.D. – The Sturgis Scoopers held the lead for only a short time as the Yankton Bucks scored 20 unanswered and stayed perfect on the season with a 20-3 win Friday night.
Sturgis scored on their opening drive – a 35 yard field goal by Brody Eisenbraun.
The 3-0 lead was short lived, however, as Yankton answered with a field goal of their own – a 40 yarder that tied the game at 3-3.
Yankton would eventually take the lead in the second quarter on a 21 yard touchdown run by Corbin Sohler. That made it 10-3 at the half.
The Bucks would extend their lead to 13-3 with a third quarter field goal and a 30-yard touchdown pass from Rugby Ryken to Gavin Swanson would seal the deal for Yankton as they win 20-3.
Yankton improves to 6-0 season while Sturgis slips to 2-4.
