Cadee Elizabeth Meyers-Dale

August 29th, 2001- January 23rd, 2024

We’ll love you forever,

We’ll like you for always,

As long as we’re living,

Our baby you’ll be.

Cadee, or “BugaBoo,” as her family lovingly called her, passed away peacefully on January 23rd, 2024 after a brief illness. She was in her mother’s arms when she went home to heaven.

A celebration of life will take place 10:30 am on Wednesday January 31st at St James Lutheran. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Interment will be held at Pine Slope Cemetery.

Cadee’s funeral service will be available to view live or following the service, from the weblink located below.

Cadee Elizabeth Meyers-Dale, 22, was born in Spearfish, SD on August 29th, 2001 to Jana and Calvin Meyers. From the start, Cadee was constantly beating the odds. Born with Trisomy 18, she beat the 95% mortality rate of living to her first year, let alone living twenty-two happy years. While she couldn’t talk, she taught you more about life than you could ever think of. She grew up in a large, extended family of love, and in addition to sharing a special bond with her sisters, Ceylee and Cassidee, constantly received the adoration of her maternal grandmother, Liz, and from the age of eight, when she met her adoptive father, Lon Dale. Her mother, Jana (Herman) Dale dedicated her life to her daughter and was able to stay at home with Cadee from birth.

Cadee’s favorite colors were yellow, pink, and purple. She loved fuzzy blankets, stuffed animals, bright lights, and watching SpongeBob with her family. She somehow knew whenever her mother was about to take a nap, and would do her best to VERY loudly coo her to sleep, to no avail. Much to her mother’s distaste, Jana developed a habit of keeping the Christmas tree up year-round, because Cadee loved the bright lights of the tree.

Cadee is survived by her parents, Lon and Jana Dale of Belle Fourche; sisters, Cassidee Meyers of Rapid City, Ceylee Meyers of Belle Fourche, Kalani Meyers of Belle Fourche, Malina Matheson of Castle Rock CO; aunts, Jinger (Steve) Clyde of Belle Fourche, Jodi Scherr of Belle Fourche; and many cousins.  She was preceded in death by her father, Cal Meyers; grandparents, Jack and Elizabeth Herman; brothers, Chase Meyers, Chad Dale; and uncles, Doug Dale and Jeffrey Herman.
