Cavaliers Bounce Back With Shellacking of Scoopers

RAPID CITY, SD – The St. Thomas More Lady Cavaliers jumped out to a 20-2 lead over Sturgis in the first quarter and didn’t look back, blowing out the Scoopers, 56-10.

It was the first game for the Lady Cavs since their loss to Spearfish on Tuesday, and they were firing on all cylinders.

Reece Ross led STM (11-3) with 15 points  Jada Mollman added nine points and seven rebounds.  The Lady Cavaliers shot 58% from the field, made 4-of-7 from the free throw line for 57%, committed nine turnovers and grabbed 17 boards.

Rachael Banks scored four points for Sturgis (1-10).  The Scoopers shot 16% from the field, 50% from the line, had 24 turnovers and snagged 11 rebounds.

The Sturgis girls are in action next on Friday, Feb. 3 as they host the Mitchell Kernels at West Gym.
